Yet Another Undead Review

FlamesRising.com, which published a great review of my story in Undead 3: Flesh Feast, has doubled back to review Undead 2: Skin & Bones, and while they didn't go quite as far into detail as in the previous review, they did still have something nice to say:

Scott Standridge’s ’til The Lord Comes is one of the stranger stories included in this anthology. The author never lets you know what to expect, making this an odd but nevertheless satisfying read.

I wouldn't have thought mine was one of the "stranger" stories (given that one is about an undead dinosaur and another about an evil disembodied finger), but I'll take it as a complement. :) More reviews as my google searches reveal them!

Hey, I like it! That was a very quirky story and open to lots of different interpretations. Very strange, some of them. Yay for you!

Is this "Undead" series of compilations in any way related to the "Book of the Dead" compilations of the '90s, edited (I believe) by Skipp & Spector?

This is the first indication I've seen that short horror anthologies are still being published, and that's wonderful! It's just sad that none of the local bookstores even have "Horror" sections, let alone "Horror Anthology" sections anymore.

Muffy--

It's not related to the famous Skipp & Spector anthology, so far as I know, except in subject matter. Permuted Press is a small publisher (I think they're mostly "on-demand"), but it's available through Amazon.com and Permuted's website.

But I know what you mean--at Barnes and Noble etc. all you can find are "The Mammoth Book of Horror" or "The Year's Best Horror and Fantasy," which are good, but don't give you the breadth of some of the smaller ones.

On the other hand, they've incorporated "horror" into the "literature" section, so maybe that's a step up! :)

Vindication at last!

Though in my neck of the woods, horror fiction is usually still sectioned off (and containing only Stephen King, Clive Barker, V.C. Andrews, and whoever is writing sexy vampire stories this month), or it's integrated with the Fantasy/Sci-Fi section.
